The lagoon´s ecosystem
consists of three closely linked, interconnected components:

the mainland drainage area
containing runoffs into the
lagoon, the lagoon itself, and
the upper Adriatic sea whose
tidal currents govern the
hydraulic conditions in
the lagoon.

Quantum Hydrometrie installed 18 networked discharge measurement
stations around the lagoon to monitor both the drainage into the
lagoon and the interaction between the lagoon and the open sea by
a continuous discharge measurement. The measurement stations were
constructed to utilize solar power. The acoutic measurement paths
have a range of lengths from 10 to 560 m.
