Safe logging of hydrographs
of flood and low water

Multiple tasks of the water management and hydrology authorities
like retention water level observation, water pollution control, sustain-
able water protection, modelling of floods etc. require continuous dis-
charge mapping at the river Mosel.

Because of the bended river course a bank-parallel current cannot be
expected. Therefore a cross-path configuration was installed as a
responder system. To ensure a reliable signal quality in case of flood
induced increasing loads of suspended sediment the transducer frequency
was chosen to 28 kHz. The discharge values are given to an external
logger as a data string.
